AHS: Murder House
Just now realized that the music that plays in the beginning of the first episode of AHS: Murder House is the theme music from the 2000 film What Lies Beneath. It stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford, and is the story of a housewife (former cellist) and her husband (a college professor). After moving into a new house, Pfeiffer’s character starts experiencing supernatural events, soon becoming convinced that the place is haunted (the first half of the film tricks you into thinking that it’s a Rear Window ripoff, actually). Her hubby (Ford) dismisses her concerns as irrational and likely a result of severe empty-nest-syndrome. Then the wife realizes that her husband was having an affair with one of his students, whom he later murdered, and that’s who’s been haunting their house.
Basically, aside from the Anti-Christ and Franken-baby plots, I just described one of the main storylines from AHS: Murder House.
I only point this out because I’ve yet to see anyone (even TV Tropes) make this connection.
